You may recognize something here.

Perhaps you over-explain to keep the peace. Certain relationships leave you depleted. You feel useful, but not really known. Hurt is followed by silence instead of repair, or belonging seems to depend on what you don’t say.

These questions can arise in families, partnerships, friendships, and communities. They can bring grief, too, as you begin to name what was missing or what you can no longer keep doing.

I’m Jane Davidson, EdD, an educator, writer, and trauma-informed coach. Together, we look at the patterns we learned to belong, stay safe, or simply get through the day, and consider what serves us now.

My short videos offer a moment of recognition. The writing, free resources, and guided workbook give you room to reflect. The Cut offers deeper learning and conversation; private coaching gives us time to examine your particular experience.

Hello, I’m Jane.

Jane Davidson, EdD, CTRC

I’m Jane Davidson, EdD, an educator, writer, and trauma-informed coach, and the person behind The Humble Pie.

With almost twenty years in the classroom and doctoral research exploring human connection, mindset, and success, I remain curious about how we understand ourselves through our relationships. My work explores grief, belonging, identity, and the ways we adapt to get through difficult circumstances.

My own experience with loss and starting over informs that work, too. I know how much can shift when someone helps you find words for an experience you’ve struggled to explain.

Through my writing, one-to-one coaching, and The Cut community, I offer space to notice patterns, ask honest questions, and consider what you want to carry forward. You can expect warmth, thoughtful conversation, and a little irreverent humor. Being human is serious enough.

The Humble Pie began with actual pies. Today, it brings that same care to a different kind of starting from scratch.
